France-based Vallourec has secured a significant contract with UK oil and gas company TechnipFMC to supply seamless line pipes for the Orca deepwater field (formerly known as Gato do Mato) in Brazil’s Santos Basin.
The deal covers the manufacturing and delivery of over 20,000 metric tons of subsea seamless premium carbon-steel line pipes, designed for risers and flowlines. The scope also includes anti-corrosive coatings and thermal insulation to ensure durability in harsh offshore conditions.
This marks Vallourec’s first major project featuring thermal insulation capabilities since its acquisition of Thermotite do Brasil, demonstrating the strategic value of its integrated service model in supporting Brazil’s energy sector.
