Steel Dynamics, Inc. (SDI) has announced the acquisition of the remaining 55 percent ownership interest in New Process Steel, a Houston-based metals solutions and distribution supply-chain company. The deal was finalized on December 1, 2025.
According to the company, the transaction will expand SDI’s reach in value-added steel processing and manufacturing, strengthening its ability to serve flat-rolled steel customers.
SDI Chairman and CEO Mark D. Millett stated that New Process Steel has a strong reputation for quality and customer relationships, adding that the acquisition positions the company for “continued value-added manufacturing growth.”
Millett welcomed New Process Steel employees into the SDI group, noting that the integration reflects SDI’s strategy to broaden its downstream processing and solutions portfolio.
