According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), US mills produced an estimated 1.79 million net tons of raw steel in the week ending July 25, 2026, up 1.5% compared with the previous week. The industry's capacity utilization rate reached 78.9%, also improving from the preceding week.
Compared with the same week in 2025, raw steel output remained broadly stable, indicating that domestic production continues to be supported by resilient demand despite ongoing uncertainty in manufacturing and construction markets.
For the year to date, US steel production has remained relatively steady, with mills maintaining utilization rates close to 79%, reflecting balanced supply and demand conditions across the market.
